Project Management Institute (PMI), the worlds leading member association for the project management profession, will hold its PMI Global Congress 2008 - Latin America on 10-13 August. "Worldwide organizations are confronted with many challenges -- the
economy and competition to mention two," said Gregory Balestrero, President and Chief Executive officer of PMI. "Project, program and portfolio management are key to successful organizations being able to overcome these challenges to achieve their goals on time and within budget even when schedules are compressed, budgets are cut and staffing is limited."

Project management is a growing profession, and membership in PMI has
grown to more than 11,500 members in Mexico, Latin America and the
Caribbean. Worldwide, PMI has more than 265,000 members in 174 countries.

PMI Global Congress 2008 -- Latin America is the premier project

Some of this years areas of focus include advanced project management
skills, communications, consulting skills, general business skills,
